With my Sony A7 I'm looking to capture magical moments

in the encounter with small and large animals in Northern Norway.

Most of the photos are only lightly edited,

because I want to show nature as it is:

Raw, strange and beautiful.

A Spider Summer

The animal I've been most interested in this summer turned out to be the wolf spider. The wolf spiders I've found are about 8 mm long - and I'm fascinated by these small, fast predators! They don't build webs, but hunt on the ground for insects. At the same time, they have to be on guard so as not to become prey themselves, for example for a hungry bird.

The female wolf spider is a caring mother. She makes an egg sac out of silk thread that she carries with her to protect the eggs and to ensure that they can develop in good conditions. When the eggs hatch, she opens the egg sac. The babies then climb onto the mother’s back. She carries them with her for about a week before they separate and the little ones have to fend for themselves.
